Gilberto Velazquez is a 2013 SS/3B with a 5-8 160 lb. frame from Arecibo, PR who attends Dra. María cadilla. Medium build, lean and wiry with room to fill out with maturity. Ran a 7.48 60 yard. Shows athleticism in the field, moves quick to the ball, good range, solid present arm strength, gets underneath his throws at times. Actions are a little raw, should continue to improve. Left-handed hitter, hits for an open stance, high leg kick, timing could be better. Flashes some pop, some length to his swing, uppercut swing path, shows good bat speed. Also pitches, spotted 78-80 mph fastball well, lacking present feel for his curveball, raw at this point.
