Brandon Ortiz is a 2013 OF/ with a 6-1 170 lb. frame from Arecibo, PR who attends Maria Cadilla. Solid build, good projection, present athleticism and room to fill out, long limbs. Ran a 7.41 60 yard. Good raw arm strength in the outfield, tendency to work underneath his throw. Gets good, athletic jumps on the ball, throwing mechanics a little inconsistent, skills to improve significantly. Right-handed hitter, open stance, wraps bat at the start, front foot hitter, pull side approach. Flashes solid bat speed, contact hitter, level swing path, opens early and looking to pull, will be better with improved timing. Also pitches, profiles better at the plate. Up to 80 mph with his fastball. Long, easy arm action, deliberate mechanics. Excellent student.
