Zachary Pop is a 2014 RHP/1B with a 6-4 222 lb. frame from Brampton, ON who attends Notre Dame Catholic HS. Tall frame, thin athletic build, projectable. Pitches from three quarter arm slot, long loose arm action, solid present arm speed. Finishes pitches well, good follow through, some extension, big separation, exposes the ball a bit early, arm works well. Nibbles at corners but good control and hits spots well at times, can make a jump with mechanical improvements, shows a lot of promise. Good late diving action on changeup in low 70s, up to 74. Less advanced with curveball but showed some potential with it, has some upside. Strength at contact, long swing, good extension, potential to develop power. Very good student.
