James Santiago is a 2013 SS/RHP/OF with a 6-0 165 lb. frame from Arecibo, PR who attends Vocacional Antonio Luchetti Arecibo HS. Slender projectable build. 6.94 runner, plays both infield and outfield, lots of arm strength both ways, long overhand release best suited for third base or outfield, speed and quickness play both places, will need to soften up hands in the infield. Right handed hitter, long stride, uses lower half well, aggressive swing with some effort, showed game ability to hit the ball the other way. Also pitched, deep arm circle, over the top release, throws downhill. Fastball topped at 84 mph, mostly straight, 12/6 downer curveball with good shape at times, tends to overstride on curveball release. Well rounded set of tools. Good student.
