Gian Gomez is a 2014 C/OF, 2B with a 5-9 150 lb. frame from Toa Baja, PR who attends Puerto Rico Baseball Academy and High School. Compact frame, slender athletic build. Switch hitting catcher, solid from both sides. Short to the ball from the right side with a long finish and solid bat speed, ball comes off the barrel well. Longer from the left side with a bit more bat speed, incorporates well. Quiet approach from both sides, quick hands, solid hitter. Solid arm behind the plate, cutting down on release time will help improve pop times. Excellent student.
