Tommy West is a 2014 LHP/1B with a 6-4 200 lb. frame from Omaha, NE who attends Millard North HS. Big young build, strong lower half with a slender upper half, lots of room to get stronger. Multi-piece side step delivery, compact arm action, high tight 3/4's arm slot, hides the ball well, some cross body on release, inconsistent lower half mechanics and tends to fall off on release. Low 80's fastball, topped out at 82 mph, mostly straight, has good arm speed and projects velocity gains. Tends to slow body on straight change up, soft curveball with short rolling break, primary fastball pitcher. Good arm but must improve delivery to take the next step. Left handed hitter, straight stance, swings hard and makes solid contact, has strength and some bat speed, will get off balance at times, pull contact. Good student.

Tommy West is a 2014 LHP/1B with a 6-4 200 lb. frame from Omaha, NE who attends Millard North HS. Big broad shouldered build, very good strength potential. Tall and fall delivery, lacks front side mechanics to throw against at present, high 3/4's arm slot, gets downhill well, hides ball well. Fastball topped at 81 mph, some running action down in zone, short slurve type break on curveball, some feel for fading change up. Has some deception and gets hitters to swing out of the zone. Left handed hitter, gets to his front side early, aggressive swing, tends to hit around the ball, has strength for power if balance improves. Has the potential to keep improving on the mound. Good student.
