Jose Ruiz is a 2013 LHP/1B/OF with a 5-5 135 lb. frame from Sparks, NV who attends Spanish Springs HS. Small slender build, minimal present strength. Compact slow paced pitching mechanics, repeats well, good downhill angle to the plate, 3/4's arm slot, stays on line. Upper 60's fastball, topped out at 70 mph, some sink and run down in zone, throws strikes and makes hitters swing the bat, soft curveball for strikes as well. Left handed hitter, simple line drive swing, contact approach. Showed good footwork in the outfield, compact clean actions.
