Ryan Belk is a 2014 RHP/MIF with a 5-11 145 lb. frame from Davenport, IA who attends Assumption HS. Slender young build, lots of room to get stronger. Drop and drive delivery mechanics, compact arm action with tight 3/4's release point, pause at the top to gather, repeats delivery well. Upper 70's fastball, topped out at 80 mph, mostly straight up in the zone, good angle and run/sink when down. Downer curveball in the upper 60's, rare change up. Threw strikes and challenged hitters. 7.40 runner, showed good actions and footwork in the middle infield, moves through the ball well, hands are soft with clean exchange to throw. Right handed hitter, balanced bent knee stance, late hand load with long stride to contact, finds the barrel well but needs additional strength to drive the ball.
