Omar Hernandez is a 2007 3B with a 5'11'', 190 lb. frame from Miami FL, who attends Miami Christian. Omar has a well-developed build and good versatility in the field. At the plate Omar has a short quick swing with good bat speed and a nice swing plane. Omar will show nice pull contact during the games but needs to be careful that he does not roll over the ball too much. In the infield Omar has nice feet and solid actions, but ultimately will project the best at second base. Omar looked more comfortable behind the plate were he showed solid fundamentals with an accurate arm and good release. Omar is a good student that should attract the attention of some mid-level college programs.

Omar Hernandez is a 2007 3B/SS/P with a 5'11'', 185 lb. frame from Miami FL, who attends Westwood Christian HS. He has a strong build, especially in his hips and thighs, and is physically mature. Hernandez's best tools are with the bat. He hits from a tall, narrow stance and has good balance through the ball. Hernandez's strength gives him some bat speed, especially when he pulls the ball, and he showed he could drive it hard. He stays quiet in the box and consistently squares up on the ball. He projects well as a hitter and looks like he can handle good pitching. Hernandez ran 7.87 in the 60 and threw 73 mph during infield drills. He tends to push the ball on his throws. He showed good hands on balls around him but has limited range defensively. Hernandez profiles as a corner defensive player whose bat will carry him. He is a very good student.

Omar Hernandez is a 2007 3B/P from Westwood Christian HS in Miami, FL, with a 5'10'', 185 lb. frame. He has broad shoulders and good overall present strength. Hernandez showed smooth, easy actions on defense and good overall balance. His overall quickness was only average but he fielded everything cleanly. Hernandez showed better arm strength from the mound and may have been holding back a bit on his throws from third base. Offensively, Hernandez has an aggressive approach at the plate and gets out early to his front side. He generates good bat speed with a nice level, line drive swing that stays on the ball for a long time. He pulled the ball hard and the ball jumped well on contact. Hernandez has good leverage at contact and can drive the ball hard. His power will improve as he learns to get better extension through the ball. On the mound, Hernandez has a long, fairly loose arm action and a high 3/4's release point. He has a complicated delivery with a full back turn that negatively affects his command and raw stuff. Hernandez's fastball was 75 mph with occasional cutting action. He also threw a 60 mph downer curveball. Herandez is a very good student.
