Sam Schleisman is a 2014 OF/RHP with a 6-1 155 lb. frame from Urbandale, IA who attends Dowling Catholic HS. Lean athletic frame with long levers. Moves well in the OF, has solid footwork, clean transfer and release, compact low elbow release, makes accurate throws. Right handed hitter with short simple swing mechanics, good balance, showed ability to square up the ball with good extension. Also pitched, high leg lift delivery with sound mechanics. Showed arm speed out of a ¾ slot and stays downhill. CB has 11/5 break and he is able to throw it for strikes.

Slender young build, projects well physically but limited present strength. 7.07 runner, good outfield defensive tools, shows some raw arm strength, can improve fundamentals for additional arm strength. Right handed hitter, rotational swing, tends to pull head and front side off early, level swing plane, mostly opposite field contact. Also pitched, compact arm action, 3/4's slot, mid 70's fastball, lots of fastball life, works down in the zone well and gets ground balls, soft curveball spin.
