Nick Silber is a 2016 RHP with a 6-4 195 lb. frame from New York, NY who attends The Lawrenceville School. Long and lean build, long limbs, young physical actions. Well paced delivery, step by step mechanics, 3/4's arm slot with good direction to the plate, gets over his front side cleanly and repeats his delivery, arm is loose and tension free coming through. Consistent 86-88 mph fastball, projects more velocity with additional strength, gets good arm side running and sinking action, throws his fastball for strikes. Nice slider with tight hard spin and a late bite, gets good two-plane tilt on the pitch and will get plenty of swing/miss and weak contact off the pitch, located his slider well and had an idea how to use it with purpose outside the strike zone. Did not see his change but has used it in the past. Projectable young pitcher with an idea what he's doing on the mound. Good student, verbal commitment to Rice.
