Blake Hargens is a 2015 RHP/3B with a 5-7 170 lb. frame from Cedar Rapids, IA who attends John F Kennedy HS. Short stocky build, young look, has some present strength. Leg raise/back turn delivery, extended 3/4's arm slot, will drop down lower on occasion, rotational delivery, arm works well out front. Upper 70's fastball, gets good run and sink at times, keeps fastball down in the zone well and gets ground balls, aggressive with his fastball. Sweeping curveball with some flat depth, tends to twist it out front, showed some feel for his change up, pounded the bottom of the strike zone and was effective. Right handed hitter, rotational spin hitter, stays on back side, hands are pretty short to the ball, has some strength in swing, line drive plane. Good student.

Blake Hargens is a 2015 RHP/3B with a 5-7 165 lb. frame from Cedar Rapids, IA who attends Kennedy. Hargens has a compact frame with a stocky strong build. He pitches from a 3/4 arm slot with a long loose arm action. Hargens maintains balance through his delivery and pounds the strike zone. He gets good run and sink on his fastball and works down in the zone. He also throws a sweeping breaking ball with some depth. Bulldog on the mound. Defensively, Hargens has developing actions on the infield with solid hands. At the plate, he has a rotational swing with some bat speed. He looks to pull and gets extension. Good student.
