Christian Maldonado Diaz is a 2014 1B/3B/RHP with a 5-10 180 lb. frame from Vega Vaja, PR who attends Carlos Beltran Academy. Wide shouldered strong build. Right handed hitter, aggressive swings from an open stance, uses backside and lower half well, long powerful swing, can drive the ball hard when squared up. Solid defensively at first base, fields cleanly, soft hands, accurate throws. Also pitched, simple delivery mechanics, mid 70's fastball, some depth on a soft downer curveball, threw strikes and got quick outs. Good student.
