Brett Allman is a 2006 RHP/OF/MIF from Island Christian HS in Key Largo, FL, with a 6'2", 160 lb. frame. Lean body, high 3/4 arm slot, good life on fastball at 74 mph, minimal effort, nice changeup with sink at 67 mph, efficient delivery, projectable velocity, range in the IF, nice backhand, line drive hitter, solid bat speed, good student as well. He could use his lower half better in his swing. He also has a tendency to wrap a bit too much for the type of hitter he is right now. Allman should end up throwing with much better velocity as he fills in his frame. He could utilize his lower body a little better in his delivery. There is no doubt that his best years are ahead of him. Allman needs to find the right college fit that will allow him to progress. He could develop as a pitcher or as a position player, but right now we like him best on the mound.

Allman is a 6-2, 160 lb right handed pitcher from Florida with a lanky, lean body that should get much stronger. He has a deceptive delivery and throws strikes aggressively with a 72-74 mph fastball. His best pitch was a 65 mph curveball that had good spin and bite. Allman can be effective at the present level because of his deception and ability to throw strikes with 2 pitches. Allman also plays some outfield and showed a nice level, leveraged swing during batting practice while making solid contact. He projects well, his best days are ahead of him. He is a good student as well.
