Diaz Saunderson is a 2016 LHP with a 5-10 164 lb. frame from Chicago, IL who attends Mount Carmel HS. Medium young build. Big leg raise delivery, fast pace, gets body way out over front side early at release, low elbow, 3/4's slot. Fastball topped out at 71 mph, throws almost exclusively to his arm side, occasional cutting action at times to get ball to the middle, soft curveball spin, developing change up. Left handed hitter, hitting approach very similar to pitching mechanics, gets way out over front side with upper body and loses balance/leverage. Needs to learn to stay back and balanced in his athletic actions. Good student.
