Daniel Black is a 2006 OF/IF from Mountain Pointe HS in Phoenix, AZ, with a 5'10", 155 lb. frame. He is a lean, wiry, and lively kid with good first step quickness and agility to handle the outfield with ease. Black eats up some ground and shows good anticipation before contact to get good jumps. He has room for some added strength, and shows athletic ability and some present hidden strength. We like the way he comes to play the game, hustles all the time, and doesn't back down from competition. Black is a good early of the line up bat that should have a low strike out ratio and steal some bases. Look for strength to come and enhance his already solid tools to compete at the next level. Black is also a good student.
