Spencer Phillips is a 2013 OF/RHP, SS with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from Palm Bay, FL who attends Bayside. Medium build, lean and wiry, athletic looking player with room to grow. Ran a 7.13 60 yard. Displays a strong arm in the infield and outfield, profiles best in the outfield. Good transfer, will be better with added strength. Right-handed hitter, bats from a slightly open stance, knee lift trigger, tends to collapse on his back side. Much better game hitter, hits hard line drives, relaxed hands, has a good idea at the plate, uses the whole field well. Also pitches, cross body delivery, pitches from a high 3/4 arm slot, hides the ball well, long arm action. Shows occasional sink on 81-84 mph fastball, spots it well. 11-5 curveball flashes sharp bite, spots it down in the zone. Good feel for pitching, nice mound upside. Good student.
