Drew Doornenbal is a 2014 3B/C, 1B, RHP with a 6-2 205 lb. frame from Ankeny, IA who attends Ankeny. Doornenbal has a large frame with a thick strong build. Defensively, he has developing footwork to the baseball on the infield with solid transfers. Doornenbal has good arm strength up to 88 MPH with good carry on his throws. He showed good reactions in game and showed body control on the slow roller. Doornenbal also showed solid catch and throw skills from behind the plate with developing receiving tools. At the plate, he uses a small load to start his swing and has a simple approach. Doornenbal has quick hands with some bat speed. He has some pop and more power potential in there. He didn't pitch and the showcase, but he has shown some promise on the mound. Good student, named to Top Prospect Team.
