Tyler Pilkington is a 2008 LHP/1B/OF from Weddington HS in Waxhaw, NC with a 5'11", 180 lb. frame. Tyler has an athletic build and looked good on the mound at the showcase. He throws from a 3/4 arm slot with a clean arm action and good extension out front. The ball comes out of Tyler's hand very well and looks like there is a good amount of projection to his velocity. Tyler has the ability to turn over his fastball and can be very tough on left-handed hitters. His feel for pitching is very advanced and should make him an attractive option to colleges through the country on the mound. Tyler has some strength in a short swing, but tends to cut himself off and lose some power at the plate. At first base Tyler showed good feet and clean actions around the bag. Tyler looks to be a mid to high-level Division I recruit in the next year.
