Tyler Bevard is a 2007 RHP with a 6'2'', 200 lb. frame from Bettendorf, IA who attends Bettendorf HS. Brevard didn't throw with his usual upper 80's velocity at the pre-draft. It looked like his release point was higher and more over the top and his fastball sat in the 84-85 mph range. He did throw a number of split finger change ups at 75-77 mph from this release point. Brevard didn't throw many curveballs; this has frequently been his best pitch in the past but from the higher release point is a more difficult pitch to throw. Brevard has at different times shown us a close to average fastball and an average CB/Chg combination in the past but he's consistently changing his mechanics and release point. He's better off down lower.

Tyler Bevard is a 2007 RHP with a 6'2'', 200 lb. frame from Bettendorf, IA who attends Bettendorf HS. Bevard has a strong thick chested build. On the mound he uses a deliberate delivery with a pause at the top. He has very good arm quickness from a high 3/4 arm slot. He maintained FB velo well, and was up to 89 mph. Change flashed good quality at 77. Breaking balls best when distinct velos, tends to blend them together. Prospect level arm. Tyler is also a good student.

Tyler Bevard is a 2007 RHP with a 6'2'', 205 lb. frame from Bettendorf IA, who attends Bettendorf HS. He has a mature, strong build with very wide shoulders. We've seen Brevard throw many times over a multi-year period and he seems to feature a different "best" pitch every time and altered pitching mechanics. Brevard threw from a full rotational, high energy windup this outing with a long, extended arm stroke. His release point was all over the place, which affected the command of most of his pitches. Brevard has very good arm speed and threw his fastball up to 88 mph with very good life. His best pitch by far this day was a 74-75 mph change up that had excellent deception, tons of sinking action and impressive command. It was a big time out pitch. Brevard's slider, which is often a sharp, hard breaking ball, was very inconsistent due to lack of a regular release point. When it all comes together for Brevard he could be something special; he shows the ability to throw two quality off speed pitches and throw a live, hard fastball.

Tyler Bevard is a 2007 RHP with a 6'2'', 205 lb. frame from Bettendorf IA, who attends Bettendorf HS. He has a present strong and mature build, with wide shoulders and long limbs. Bevard has a long, easy arm action with some effort on release. His normal release point is high 3/4's but he's always had some trouble getting consistent with the release point on all three pitches. Bevard threw his fastball up to 87 mph at the showcase with some cutting action at times and did a good job throwing strikes and getting ahead. He throws a hard curveball in the mid-70's that some would call a slider but it had very good depth and sharpness today and is a serious weapon at the next level if he can develop consistency with it. Bevard's 78 mph change up flashed good sink and deception as well. Bevard has three quality pitches and competes hard, it's just a matter of developing some consistency. Bevard swings the bat well for a pitcher and his strength gives him good power when he gets hold of one. He is also a good student.

Tyler Bevard is a 2007 RHP/1B with a 6'2'', 205 lb. frame from Bettendorf IA, who attends Bettendorf HS. He has a strong present build and strength and has the frame to get stronger, especially in the lower half. He has a very good power pitcher's build. Bevard has a nice, long loose arm action from an extended 3/4's release point. He shows the ball in back as part of his long takaway, which gives the hitter a better chance to time him. Brevard has very good arm speed and maintains a good downward angle to the plate from slow to fast delivery. He has some effort on release. Brevard's fastball was 85-88 mph with good late life. He struggled a bit with the consistency on his curveball but when he stayed over top of it the pitch had very good hard spin and ideal velocity at 73-75 mph. It can be a very good pitch when Bevard gets consistent with it. Bevard's change up was also a quality pitch, with very good arm speed and good velocity differential from his fastball. He did a good job of working in the strike zone with all his pitches. Bevard is a very good athlete who we've seen play in the field at a prospect level but who told us he's a full-time pitcher now. He has a power arm and quality secondary pitches and should continue to improve. Very Good Prospect/Top Level Follow. Bevard is also a good student.

Tyler Bevard is a 2007 RHP/3B from Bettendorf, Iowa. Bevard is 6'1", 180 pounds, with a medium build. He pitches from a over the top arm slot, and has a long, loose arm. He has a high leg kick and is long in back which hides the ball well from the hitter. His lower half is a bit misdirected, and he is inconsistent with his landing, but he has a very fast arm that recovers well. His fastball has good movement at 84 mph, and his curveball showed a hard 12-6 bite at 68-70 mph. Bevard throws a very good change-up at 74 mph with excellent sink. He had a plus arm across the infield with good carry at 87 mph. He hits from an open stance, and stays open during the swing. He drops his hands a bit which slows his bat down, and he is a pull hitter with good power to the pull side. Tyler is a very exciting young pitcher with great potential to develop into a big time college prospect.
