Colan Borchers is a 2014 RHP/3B with a 6-3 200 lb. frame from Le Mars, IA who attends Le Mars HS. Big frame, strong thick chest. Throws from a high leg raise delivery, compact arm action, high ¾ release with good downhill. Has some deception in the delivery as he hides the ball well. FB touched 85 mph and had good boring action, throws a heavy ball, works the bottom of the zone. Threw a rare SL that had good tilt and occasional CB depth. Really did a nice job of locating and getting up under the hands of the right handed hitters. He maintained velocity and showed the ability to miss barrels. Interesting follow.

Colan Borchers is a 2014 RHP/3B with a 6-2 188 lb. frame from LeMars, IA who attends Le Mars HS. Strong athletic build, room to get stronger. Slow paced smooth delivery, stays on line well, low effort release, high 3/4's arm slot, good extension out front, projects well with delivery and arm action. Fastball to 85 mph, can locate fastball to both sides of the plate, some running life at times, curveball gets some spin and 11/5 depth at times, can throw curveball harder. Developing change up. Right handed hitter, open stance, doesn't close, long swing, stays on his backside. 7.18 runner, showed good hands at first base. Strong potential to keep improving as a pitcher, follow closely.

Colan Borchers is a 2014 RHP with a 6-2 185 lb. frame from LeMars, IA who attends LeMars HS. Tall lean build with slender shoulders, plenty of strength potential. Well paced delivery, separates hands late and away from body, incomplete and inconsistent arm circle, quick arm coming through. Steady low 80's fastball, gets big sinking action at times, projects velocity. Tends to rush arm on curveball, soft spin and rolling break, rare change up, primary fastball pitcher. Nice arm for 2014, will improve in all areas if he can make some basic adjustments and gain consistency. Right handed hitter, low hand set, early rotational swing, line drive swing plane with occasional lift, some strength at contact. 7.38 runner, shows his arm strength in the infield.
