Trevor Funk is a 2007 right hand pitcher from American School, residing in Vero Beach, FL. Funk has a strong, broad, mature type build on his impressive 6'5" 230 lb. frame. He is built like a durable workhorse. Funk was ranked #84 among PG National Top 85 pitchers. He has a long arm action with some reach behind on the backside of his arm arc, where his hand becomes visible toward 1st base. His arm is strong with average speed. Funk pitches with some effort but has decent mechanics, with some rhythm created by a slight rock back over the rubber. He had good direction toward the plate and commanded his body pretty well. He, like a lot of young, big pitchers is still learning to use his entire body and he will continue to get better. Funk's fastball topped at 87 and sat 82-86 mph. His best pitch was his 69 mph curveball that had 12/6ish shape and rolling action, with some depth in the zone. With more extension, both his fastball and curveball will bump up a notch in quality. That more than anything is where Funk has a chance to really continue to develop. The more he can use that big, strong body to provide power and extension, the better all his stuff will be. Funk also showed a nice change-up, thrown with plus plus arm speed and very good feel. Funk is a D1 caliber prospect and will continue to develop in college. He may get some scout attention this spring, but he is still a work in progress, with college seeming to be the best bet to continue is development.

Trevor Funk is a 2007 RHP/1B with a 6'5'', 230 lb. frame from Vero Beach FL, who attends American School. Funk has a big frame with a strong build. Funk pitches from a 3/4 arm slot and has a long arm action. His arm works and he has arm speed. Funk uses drop and drive style mechanics and maintains good balance through his delivery. Funk has an online finish and throws with max effort. He works quick on the mound and has a bulldog demeanor. He throws an 11/5 curveball with good spin and depth. He maintains good arm speed on his change-up as well. At the plate, Funk starts with a wide stance and takes a deep load. He takes a very aggressive hack and has raw power. He has some length to his swing and hits off his front foot. Funk has big time power potential as he learns to swing with balance and leverage. Funk is a good follow.

Trevor Funk is a 6'5" 230 pound 2007 right handed pitcher and first baseman from Vero Beach High School in Vero Beach, Florida who was named to the Top Prospect Team. He has a big strong body with good athleticism. Trevor showed good arm strength by throwing 79 mph from first base during the workout. He has good hands and nice footwork. At the plate, Funk has a good load and set up. He swings hard and attacks the ball. He has very good bat speed and drove some balls very hard. Trevor is very strong and should continue to improve as he matures. He is also a good student with a 3.0 gpa.

Trevor Funk is a very athletic and imposing 6'4", 235 lb. right handed pitcher from Boynton Beach, Florida, who has lived in the Northeast until recently. He's a 2006 pitcher with a good mound presence. On the mound he has a very balanced delivery with good arm speed. He knows how to pitch and should continue to develop velocity. Trevor topped out at 81 mph in Chapel Hill with a 68 mph curveball, but he threw a couple of clicks harder than that earlier in the week at the Underclass Showcase. Trevor also plays first base and shows good athleticism at that position. He's a little long with wood, but has some bat speed and can probably do some serious damage with his strength with metal in his hands. Trevor has shown us a nice low key happy personality and a real love for the game at the number of events we've seen him at this summer. He is a good student.

Trevor Funk is an extra big 6'4", 235 lb., 2006 right handed pitcher from Boynton Beach, Florida, who we’ve seen pitch frequently this past summer. He has a bulldog approach to pitching, and competes well on the mound. Funk has a slow, deliberate delivery with a pause at the top with some backwards lean that negatively affects his balance. He has a full arm circle and a good, smooth arm action. Funk threw his fastball 81-83 mph at Duke, and had good downward plane to the plate on his pitches. His curveball was 64-65 mph and had a big, sweeping break at times. He also threw a 69 mph change up, and did a good job of throwing strikes with all three of his pitches. Funk shows some promise with the bat also due to his strength. He has a surprisingly short path to the ball at times, but often seems a bit hesitant to let the bat head go and drive the ball. An aggressive approach at the plate, similar to his aggressive approach on the mound, might provide dividends.

Trevor Funk is a 2006 RHP/1B from Boynton Beach, FL. Funk is an extra big 6'4" right hander with wide shoulders and good strength throughout his body. He has a short, compact arm action in back with a high elbow but he gets his arm through well to the plate and has good, balanced mechanics overall. Funk’s fastball was in the 79-81 mph range for three innings with a bit of run and sink. His best pitch was a 65 mph curveball that had good spin and bite. If Funk could throw his breaking ball harder it would be even more effective. He also mixed in a couple of change ups. Funk is a young pitcher with a good chance of getting a whole lot better over the next few years. Very interesting follow!
