2003 South Underclass Showcase
Patten is a young 2006 grad from the midwest who is a switch hitting second baseman as well as a pitcher. He has a smaller 5 foot 9 frame and plenty of time to get faster and swing the bat with more strength. He showed a good glove with soft hands and a nice release. He had 71 mph velocity on his throws to first base. At the plate he showed a hard swing with some effort that occasionally gets him off balance but when he learns to use his lower half better he might gain a sizeable increase in his swing efficiency. Overall he made some nice plays in the field, but had some trouble with the wood. We will see him develop over the next year.
