Tony Nix is a 2007 outfielder from Poway HS in Poway, CA, with a 5'11", 170 lb. frame. Nix showed very good game speed and quickness that was better than his sixty time might suggest. Defensively he has good arm strength (83OF) with a quick and accurate arm, and has good outfield actions. Nix reads the ball well off the bat and gets great jumps in the outfield that plays well in center field. At the plate he is a right handed hitter with good bat speed and a line drive swing path. He consistently makes solid contact, and has the adjustability with his hands to stay inside the ball and go the other way well. Nix stays balanced throughout his swing and gets good rotation in his swing. He is currently a gap to gap hitter, but has projectable power. Nix is an all-around good player that will play at the next level, and is a must follow. He is also a very good student.
