Tim May is a 6'3", 195 lb. athletic catcher from Mission Viejo, California, who can hit. Tim ran very well for a catcher with a 7.23 sixty time. His pop times ranged from 2.15-2.27 with a top velocity of 74 mph. Tim keeps his throws low and starts from a side saddle stance. We feel with some correction in foot work, he can continue to lower his pop times. Tim is a right handed hitter with a narrow and tall stance. He has very good bat speed, good balance in his swing with strong hands, and a very short bat path. He shows some lift in his swing with a very good attacking action to the ball, and his power will improve with a little more extension. Tim uses the whole field and shows serious power to all fields. He can catch, but projects real well at 1B. Timothy is an outstanding student.

Timothy May is a big projectable 6'3/195 catcher from Mission Viejo, CA. He has some tools that will play well at the DI level. He showed solid arm strength with a 2 flat pop time during the workouts. He is capable of even better pop times with a quicker transfer and release. He showed his athletic ability by running a 7.2 60 on the Tropicana Field turf. He has a nice short swing and hit some hard line drives. Our notes said he looked over matched and then on the next pitch he hit a bolt off the major league left field wall off a 91 mph fastball. He could develop into a nice DI catcher or he could play 1B. His bat has to be followed and he's really got a MLB type body. His best playing years are still ahead of him. Timothy is an outstanding student.

WP - Timothy May is a 2005 C from Mission Viejo, CA. At 6 foot 3 and 195 pounds, May has a good strong build and showed durability behind the plate. He’s a catcher with more wood power than most high schoolers. He can catch and throw with playable times and velocities, but his bat is what separates him from the rest. He generates good bat-speed and some loft power with a smooth, slight uppercut swing. He showed gap to gap ability from a solid upright stance and the ball carried deep with regularity. He was selected to the National showcase in Tropicana and is a catcher that needs to be followed by the top schools on the west coast.

Tim is a '05 C/1B/OF from Mission Viejo, California.. He has a large, athletic 6-3/190 lb. frame with long arms and legs. His body is projectable with current strength that transfers to the plate well. Balls come off his bat well and he uses all fields. He occasionally lets his front side fly open. He needs to work on hitting the inner half of the ball better to drive balls with authority more consistantly the other way. He shows the ability to read pitches well and stays on the ball with gap power. He shows average arm strength at 71mph to 2B, but he makes up for it with a nice quick transfer/release. He has a solid 2.10 pop that will get much better with added arm strength. He receives well with sure hands that will keep him behind plate. He has a chance to become a very good college player. One to watch this summer closely. Timothy is an outstanding student.
