Thomas Haggerty is a 2008 OF/P with a 5'9'', 155 lb. frame from Phoenix AZ, who attends Brophy College Prep. He has a lean body type on a medium frame, though his upper body does have some breadth that suggests he will fill out and get stronger. Haggerty plays for one of the top high school programs in the nation at Brophy Prep. He showed the type of fundametally sound game that can be expected of a young player at a program like Brophy. Haggerty has a chance to hit a bit. His hands work well and he showed the ability to hit the ball hard in the middle of the field during the games after showing a pullside approach during batting practice. He has a little lift in his swing. Defensively Haggerty looked to be well-coached. He has a good arm and is an accurate thrower. His approach to the ball and his set-up technique put him in good position to make those accurate throws. On the mound he showed a fastball (76-78 mph) with good run and he threw strikes in the bottom part of the zone. He is a good student and well-rounded player who will contribute at the college level.
