Samuel Cruze is a 2015 C/RHP/IF with a 5-8 141 lb. frame from Nashville, TN who attends Martin Luther King Magnet HS. Smaller build, young look, minimal present strength. Switch-hitter, much better swing mechanics and bat speed right handed at present, good balance, has some hand strength and beginnings of bat speed, keeps swing short and direct, hits through the ball to the middle of the field, should improve with additional strength. Athletic actions behind the plate, hard worker, blocks well, good footwork, arm strength still developing, 2.16 best pop time. Also pitched, well paced leg raise delivery, full arm circle, 3/4's to mid 3/4's release, fastball to 74 mph, have seen up to 79 earlier this summer, soft sweeping curveball. Good student.
