Angel Alicea-Nieves is a 2013 RHP/3B with a 6-0 178 lb. frame from Santa Isabel, PR who attends Montverde Academy. Medium athletic build, some present strength. Two-way prospect. Slow paced turn and throw delivery, loose arm, accelerates arm well, 3/4's arm slot. Upper 80's fastball, topped out at 90 mph, works low in zone effectively with hard run and sink at times. Tends to slow body and arm on off speed pitches, not next level pitches at this point, raw talent with plus fastball potential. Big time arm strength from third base, plus carry and 93 mph velocity, 6.70 runner, has all the tools to be a standout third baseman defensively. Right handed hitter, simple swing mechanics, good shift into contact, good lower half use, solid mid-field line drive contact, has some bat speed and ability to square up. Development of off speed pitches key to pitching development but is a legit position prospect as well. Good student, signed with Wabash Valley College.

Angel Alicea-Nieves is a 2013 SS/RHP with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Santa Isabel, PR who attends Montverde Academy (FL). Medium athletic build, lots of body life, some present strength. 6.78 runner, agile defender with quick feet, works through the ball, plenty of arm strength. Right handed hitter, straight stance, simple line drive swing, creates bat speed with short approach to the ball, flashes some pull power. Also pitched, legit two-way prospect, short quick arm action, nice extension out front , ball comes out clean, athletic balanced delivery, tends to open early with some effort. Fastball topped at 91 mph, good late sinking action, good spin on curveball with some bite, developing change up. Live bodied athlete with some ceiling. Good student, verbal commitment to Alabama State.
