Michael Chontos is a 2013 RHP/SS, 2B with a 5-7 140 lb. frame from Egg Harbor Township, NJ who attends Egg Harbor Twp. Smaller build, has some strength, solid athlete. Pitches from a 3/4 arm slot, shorter arm action, has a compact, repeatable delivery. Pitches at 78-81 mph with his fastball, stays true through the zone, good command and attacks hitters, moves the ball around well. Spins an 11-5 curveball, flashes some depth, tight rotation, shows a decent feel for it. Good fading action on his changeup. Feel for three pitches, good idea on the mound. Also a position player, grades out better on the mound. Decent infield transfers, developing actions, flashes some solid arm strength. Right-handed hitter, knee lift trigger, needs to get more balanced, hits on his front foot. Stays short to the ball, some hard line drive contact.
