Trey Beckman is a 2015 OF/LHP with a 6-0 190 lb. frame from Cedar Rapids, IA who attends Prairie. Beckman has a medium sized frame with an athletic build with some strength. He's a good runner at 7.05 and moves well to the ball in the outfield. Beckman has good actions in the outfield with smooth transfers. He has developing arm strength and there's more in there with some lower half adjustments. At the plate, Beckman starts with a slightly open stance and has a short swing path to the baseball. He's got bat speed and makes good contact to all fields. Beckman has good hitting tools and projects well at the plate. He pitches from a 3/4 arm slot and stays tall on his backside. Very good student.

Trey Beckman is a 2015 OF/LHP/1B with a 6-0 190 lb. frame from Cedar Rapids, IA who attends Prairie HS. Medium frame, strong athletic build, big and strong for a freshman. Very interesting young prospect. Uses hands well at the plate, good balance and solid overall hitting mechanics with a few potential tweaks to improve over the next four years to get even better. Short to the ball, flashes good bat speed with more to come, can get more use of lower half to create power. Good at bats against higher velocity pitching, consistent contact, strength in wrists. Slow deliberate release in throwing motion, loose arm but raw throwing mechanics. Moves well in OF, one of top freshman players in state of Iowa.
