Excellent defensive catcher with workout numbers to show. Stays low in base, game actions during workouts. Good transfer, quick release. Throws are online and arm is quick. High level defensive skills. Right handed hitter with open, upright stance. Aggressive load, hard on front side. Pull approach with bat speed and good swing plane. Mechanics are good with good timing and weight transfer.

Simon Gravel is a 2013 C/3B, OF with a 6-3 187 lb. frame from Terrebonne, QC who attends Marie Mediatrice Center. Large athletic build, good present strength with more to come. Hard working catcher, very good blocking, can improve footwork but effort there, low center of gravity, quick laterally, receives well, good arm strength with some quickness in his release, 1.93 best pop time. Shows athleticism and skills at third base, good quick feet, soft hands and a quick release. Right handed hitter, open stance with long stride, long swing with uppercut plane, has some bat speed and leverage, shows raw power, can shorten up/simplify approach with lower half, took some good game swings. Also pitched, tall delivery with short stride, cuts off out front, fastball to 84 mph, commands FB very well to corners, soft curveball with some downer shape. Very interesting athlete, has the tools to really improve. Named to the Top Prospect Team.
