Luke Hassman is a 2014 3B/RHP with a 6-4 220 lb. frame from Altoona, IA who attends Southeast Polk HS. Big boned athlete with good present strength. Right handed hitter, calm balanced stance, limited hand load, foot occasionally late getting down, short swing especially for his size, line drive plane, has some strength and bat speed, solid pull to mid field line drive contact, could extend better out front for more lift/power, solid overall hitting tools and approach. 7.54 runner, hands work well at third base, can improve footwork and direction on throws, tends to recoil costing arm strength, first base a potential future position. Also pitches, short stride with over the top release point, gets downhill well, stays very tall in delivery. Upper 70's fastball, touched 80 mph, big slow curveball, fills up the strike zone and spots his pitches. Good student.
