Dean Smith is a 2014 LHP/1B, OF with a 6-1 185 lb. frame from Prosper, TX who attends Prosper. Has a large projectable frame with room to fill out. He pitches from a high 3/4 arm slot with a long arm action, has nice easy mechanics and a simple repeatable delivery. His fastball gets on hitters quick with his ability to hide the ball, works quick, and throws strikes with all his pitches. Has good instincts on the infield with good feet and a good glove. Has an open stance at the plate with a good swing path. Has a level swing with bat speed, makes line drive contact at the plate and hits the ball to all fields. Is a great student and someone to continue to follow.
