Jacob Smith is a 2013 RHP/3B/C with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Gilbert, AZ who attends Highland HS. Mediium athletic build, some present strength. Full delivery, deep arm action, hides the ball well, high 3/4's arm slot, stays balanced and on line. Steady mid 80's fastball, topped out at 87 mph, good arm side at times, throws fastball to spots. Curveball has good spin, sharp bite and 11/5 depth, hitters don't pick up spin, some feel for change up. Throws strikes, competes and works ahead with confidence. Right handed hitter, rotational swing with some strength and bat speed, tends to lose balance and fall off but ball jumps when squared, will hit mistakes. Long catching actions, good raw arm strength on throws, 1.87 pop time drills only, future is on the mound. Has Division I pitching tools and skills.
