Sergio Hernandez is a 2007 1B with a 6'0'', 180 lb. frame from Miami FL, who attends Miami Christian HS. He has a lean, athletic build with some strength potential in the future. Hernandez took defensive drills in the outfield and showed projectable arm strength and raw overall fundamentals. However, he played first base during the games and was very, very impressive defensively at that position. He picked numerous balls out of the dirt to save his infielder's efforts, showed good flexibility and quickness and really stood out. Offensively, Hernandez is a right handed hitter who hits out of a balanced open stance and uses his hands well to hit. He has a smooth, good looking swing with some gap to gap power potential. His best contact was pulling the ball. Hernandez is a nice overall player with a good balance of skills.

Sergio Hernandez is a 2007 first baseman/third baseman from Miami Christian High School with a 6'0", 182 lb. frame. Defensively he has good actions with nice footwork fielding ground balls and moving around the first base bag. His hands are soft and he picks balls out of the dirt well. At the plate the right handed hitter hits from a wide base with very quick hands to the ball. Hernandez has good wrists and hands and showed the ability to go with the pitch and use the whole field. His quick hands allow him to wait longer on pitches and he can hit balls deep in his stance and still hit with authority. Hernandez has the ability to hit for a high average and has projectable power. He is also a good student.
