WP - Benjamin Soley is a 2005 1B/OF from Los Angeles, CA. At 6'2", 185, he has an extra large frame and a strong build to be a physical type player. He has a quiet and easy approach from a slightly open stance that generates some present raw power, especially to the pull side, but can still take the ball back up the middle. Benjamin has good bat speed to go along with his strong knowledge of the strike zone. He shows adequate hands around the first base bag and also has the ability to handle the corner outfield positions. He is a solid left handed hitter.

Benjamin Soley -- Soley is a very athletic 6-2 junior left handed hitting first baseman from California. He has a nice angular frame that can add more strength in the future. Soley hits from a balanced stance and has a good load and attacks the ball aggressively with a pull type approach. Soley showed the ability to loft the ball in batting practice and would add even more power with better extension to his swing. He had a very good contact ratio in both batting practice and games. Soley is an average big league runner and showed some arm strength both in workouts and in games. Athletically he could play any outfield position at the next level in addition to first base. Our scouts also really liked the way that Soley hustled and conducted himself on the field and at the ball park. He looks and acts like a ball player. Benjamin is also a strong student. Good "05" prospect, athletic!
