McConal is a big strong player with a good body and a power bat. We have seen him before and his bat looks better the more we see it. He can play first base with some of the best hands in the showcase and a playable arm. Defensively things looked easy for him. But the bat has Big League potential. He took batting practice, showing plus bat-speed, power with a big and very good looking swing. The sound coming off his bat was a solid crack as he punched the ball with regularity. He is a player that can mash the ball and will go as far as that bat will take him. It could end up being all the way. Sean is a good student.

McConal stands 6 feet 3 inches tall with a good looking build at 205 pounds. He is a corner infielder who also pitches and showed us many things that indicate he is a good prospect. His best tool appeared to be his bat. He showed us deep gap power and a strong swing using a short stride and quick hands. He was inside some good pitching and put a charge into a few in Batting Practice. He produced many line drives in BP with some carry into the field, coming off his bat fast. At the next level he projects well as a 1Bman registering 76 mph on his throw across the infield and running a 7.16 in the 60. He took the mound showing a 78-80 mph fastball and a good break on a soft curve in the 61-63 mph range but his bat is what makes him extra interesting. He is a strong player and there is no doubt that he has Aluminum power that will draw some top Colleges to him through the recruiting process this summer. His bat will carry him a long ways and that is what every team at every level needs more of.
