Roman Collins is a 2012 OF/1B with a 6-2 200 lb. frame from Maple Grove, MN who attends Maple Grove HS. Strong well proportioned athletic build. Very good straight ahead runner, 6.65 in the 60, moves to ball well in the outfield, quick release, lacks back side in throwing mechanics affecting arm strength. Open spread stance, no weight shift/stride, pulls off at contact, squares up the ball, pull contact, swing mechanics don't allow him to use strength, can really improve offensively with instruction. Good student.
