Zach Baird is a 2015 RHP/MIF with a 6-0 165 lb. frame from South Elgin, IL who attends South Elgin HS. Slender very young look, lots of room to get stronger. Basic leg raise delivery, stays balanced well, over the top arm slot, leans upper body off line but maintains lower half direction, medium effort release, works downhill well. Fastball topped out at 82 mph, mostly straight, good command of fastball and will miss low when he misses. Nice curveball spin with 11/5 shape and depth, will occasionally get on side of curveball for more sweeping shape. Rare change up but turns it over well with good arm speed. Has the pitches and command to keep improving with additional strength. Right handed hitter, long stride into contact, long loose swing, gets the barrel out front and makes consistent contact.
