Brian Canida is a 2014 1B/RHP with a 6-2 235 lb. frame from Amarillo, TX who attends Randall. Canida has a large frame with a thick build. He has nice hands defensively at first base and is a good target. He has developing actions defensively with developing footwork. At the plate, Canida starts with a slightly open stance and throws his hands to the baseball well. He's got bat speed with a weight shift rotational swing. He has present gap to gap pop with more in there. Canida has solid hitting tools and made consistent solid contact. He also pitches from a H 3/4 arm slot with a 2-piece arm action and extended release. Very good student.
