Jake Rogers is a 2013 C/SS with a 6-1 190 lb. frame from Canyon, TX who attends Canyon HS. Well proportioned athletic build, plenty of room to add strength. Very clean and simple catching mechanics, advanced footwork and exchange, has athletic quickness behind the plate, receives the ball comfortably, 1.95 best pop time. Right handed hitter, rock back load, moves forward through contact, aggressive swing with bat speed, stays balanced well, high extended finish, has lift in his swing with good power, hits the ball hard, squares up consistently, middle of the field power. Has polished skills on both sides of the ball with present tools and some projection. Should get plenty of professional scouting attention this spring. Good student, signed with Tulane.
