Jake Cassady is a 2012 LHP/OF with a 6-3 175 lb. frame from Des Moines, IA who attends Dowling Catholic HS. Tall lean build, projects physically. Simple leg raise delivery, very short stride, leaves back side over the rubber, high 3/4's release point. Mid 70's fastball, mostly straight, misses up frequently, rare slider but flashes some bite at times, must lengthen stride and use lower half to use his natural talent. Has some hitting tools, simple swing approach, good flow, smooth swing, solid mid field line drive contact, will improve with added strength. 6.87 runner, 4.34 to home to first. Good student.
