Sam Shaughnessy is a 2006 outfielder/first baseman from Newton North HS in Newton, Massachusetts, with a stocky 5'11"/185 pound frame. Sam has good speed as he ran a 7.04-60 yard in workouts and also has good instincts on the bases. As a left handed hitter, he hits from an open stance and closes well. He has excellent hands and very good bat speed. Shaughnessy is a patient hitter with strength in his swing. He has a solid arm from the outfield with an accurate arm at 74 mph. Sam hustles and is always in the game. Shaughnessy is a very good student.
