Richard Carthon is a 2012 OF/ with a 5-9 190 lb. frame from Shreveport, LA who attends CE Byrd. Carthon is an athletic kid with a running back's build. He brings a football mentality to the field, especially on the bases where he uses his speed well. He has a solid arm in the outfield and has a chance to be a good defender. He shows nice batspeed from the left side. Currently, he closes off his lower half during his swing and fights against it making him inconsistent on the inner half but when he does make good contact the ball flies off his bat. He is an outstanding student. Named to the Top Prospect Team at this event.
