Ryan Saldivar- C- Denton Ryan HS, Denton, TX- 5'11"/185. With quick feet and a quick release, Saldivar had the best pop times at the event, including his best at 1.85. He showed soft hands behind the plate with good receiving skills. With his quick feet, Saldivar was also able to run a 6.94 sixty. During the game he went 3-5 with a double, and he had a solid single off Jeremy Hellickson, the top pitcher at the event, right after Hellickson hit him with a fastball. He has good bat speed with a line drive swing plane. The skills are all there, it's time people start paying more attention. He should be a very good DNF. If not someone is going to wish they had him under control next spring. He rates with all the top catching prospects in high school baseball.

Ryan Saldivar is a 2005 catcher from Denton, TX. We’ve seen Saldivar play countless times in the past, including at the Perfect Game National Showcase in June, but this is the best we’ve seen him play. He was the top performance hitter at the showcase, slamming two triples, one over the centerfielder’s head and the other up the RCF gap and collecting a couple of other line drive hits that were crushed. When Saldivar stays focused on hitting the ball up the middle and to the gaps, he has surprising power and the ball jumps off his bat in a big hurry. The triples come from the fact that Saldivar is one of the best running prospect catchers in the country. Saldivar’s defensive tools are very polished, and his quickness and athleticism are big plusses. Saldivar is a no nonsense, hard nosed competitor on the field, which has impressed us. He can play at any top level Division I program in the country, and will get attention from the pro scouts as well. Ryan is a good student.

Ryan Saldivar is a solid strong 5'11/185 catcher from Denton, TX. Saldivar is a live bodied catcher with a compact body and he has a lot of deceptive strength. He’s short and quick to the ball with his swing. He runs well 6.99. He has very good arm strength and had some of the quickest workout and game pop times at the showcase. He popped 2 flat during the games. He's a highest level defensive catcher who can really hit. He's an intelligent player with big time athletic skills. He can catch for any college in America and he has a future in pro baseball. Ryan is a good student.

Ryan Saldivar -- Saldivar is a junior catcher from Texas with a lively, athletic body and quick actions. Saldivar is well put together and will get even stronger. He has quick actions behind the plate and good arm strength as well. His best tools, though, are with a bat in his hand. Saldivar has a quick, leveraged swing with very good bat speed and some loft power. Saldivar is going to hit some home runs at the next level and be an offensive standout for his position. He has some savvy in his approach to hitting, too. Saldivar also threw 2 innings at the Showcase and demonstrated good arm strength. His fastball topped out at 84 mph and he threw a 65-67 mph curveball. Ryan is a good student. "05" catcher to keep a close eye on.

Very good "05" catcher who can pitch. Good athletic body and some serious tools in his arm and receiving ability. Runs well and shows hitting talent. Mostly a pull hitter at this time. Very strong arm and a quick release, 1.86 pop time. Threw close to mid 80s from the mound with a good breaking ball. Definitely a very good "05" to watch closely.

Good 05 prospect who does many things well on a baseball field. Good catcher, sub 2.00 pop time with a very strong arm for 05. Good pitcher, mid 80s easy and consistent, looks like there's more in him. Already handles the wood, good bat speed and power potential. He can hit! Keep a close watch on this 05.
