Stefan Van Horn is a 2013 C/RHP, OF with a 6-0 170 lb. frame from Puyallup, WA who attends Rogers. Van Horn is a physical young player with an athletic build, sloped shoulders, and present strength. Had a very good workout, defensively he sets up well behind the plate, good receiver. Good catch and throw skills with a big arm behind the plate. Puts his throws on target to second base. Advanced defensive tools at present. Took a very good BP, the ball jumps off of his bat. He has natural strength in his swing and shows good pop. Upright stance with very simple swing mechanics, bat gets through zone quickly, line drive contact. Also showed potential on the mound. Full wind up, drop and drive delivery with a 3/4 arm slot. Repeats mechanics and has good balance, lower effort thrower with a clean arm action. High level follow. Very good student.
