Ivey Starling is a 2012 C/RHP with a 6-1 190 lb. frame from Brentwood, TN who attends Middle Tennessee Christian HS. Well proportioned athletic build, good present strength. Versatile player, well rounded tools/skills. Agile receiver, good quickness, soft hands behind the plate, compact arm with quick release, has raw arm strength, 1.93 best pop time. Right handed hitter, simple balanced set up, short quick swing, uses hands well, consistent hard line drive contact, has strength in his swing, ball comes off the barrel hard, shows some lift at times. Also pitches, simple mechanics, long arm action with a hook in back, loose fast arm, 3/4's slot. Fastball to 84 mph, more velo in there, heavy sink at the plate. Good feel for off speed, 11/5 curveball has tight spin and bite, good deception on change up. Lots of ways to help a college team. Good student.
