WP - Ryan McDermott is a 2005 SS/3B/P from Gunn HS in Palo Alto, CA. Ryan has a lean, athletic frame and build that can hold more muscle as he continues to mature. He has very good plus hands to handle any infield position with a quick accurate throwing arm. Ryan showed plus instincts, good first step quickness and body control and that adds to his all around defensive game. He makes good solid contact at the plate and uses the whole field. He shows the ability to be a top of the order hitter that can get on base. He should be a very solid college player and has a chance to play at a high level. Outstanding feel for the game and he projects physically. Ryan is also a very good student.
