Davis Marlar is a 2012 C/RHP with a 6-0 190 lb. frame from Carrollton, GA who attends Carrollton HS. Strong physical build, mature look. Very good arm strength, consistent pop times down to 1.89, accurate arm, likes to throw the ball, can improve footwork further, tends to sweep glove at ball while receiving. Right handed hitter, open stance, looking to pull, high knee lift load, has some bat speed and strength, aggressive swing, consistent contact, ball comes off the barrel well. Also pitched, simple on line delivery, solid mechanics, some effort on release. Fastball topped out at 84 mph, have seen 87 mph this summer, good hard curveball with some tilt, rare change up. Solid all around player. Good student, verbal commitment to Army.
