Chris Oakley is a 2013 RHP with a 6-8 230 lb. frame from Egg Harbor Twp, NJ who attends St. Augustine Prep. Extra big and strong build, intimidating presence. Slow paced full delivery, keeps hands high throughout, medium arm circle with pause, throws downhill from high 3/4's slot with good extension, arm works smoothly. Fastball to 93 mph, 4-seamer mostly straight, turns over 2-seamer at 87-88 mph with good effect,, throws strikes with his fastball. Hand position mid 70's curveball, consistent spin with slurve type break, will occasionally tip curveball with wrap in back. Development of off speed stuff will be the key to future. Good student, verbal commitment to North Carolina.

Simple delivery, stays balanced and on line, repeatable one piece arm action. Upper 80's fastball, touched 91 mph briefly, have seen up to 92, fastball mostly straight but pitched down in the zone well. Soft curveball with small downer shape, might investigate a slider at some point. Lots more power in the arm and body. Good student.

Chris Oakley is a 2013 RHP with a 6-8 225 lb. frame from Egg Harbor Twp, NJ who attends St. Augustine Prep. XXL body, very good strength potential. Slow paced delivery, big slow arm wrap, works through it well, 3/4's slot with some extension, deceptive combination of size/pace and velocity. Primary fastball pitcher, topped out at 90 mph, heavy fastball with sink at the plate, occasional hard boring action, tends to lose velocity from the stretch. Ideal release point for split finger, gets tumble at times but needs to throw harder, slows arm. Soft present spin on curveball. High ceiling potential as a power pitcher, has been up to 92 mph in month since the event, topped out at 82 in 2010. Development of off speed key. Good student.
